Photography: Matt Harvey Location: Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast There are three months in everyone's life where the days stretch out longer, the hours are filled with sweet possibility, and the beach is your new postcode – hellooooooo, summer! Queensland offers up some pretty epic experiences all year, but in summer it particularly shines. With all those thousands of kilometres of coastline, months (yes, really!) of sunshine, and the abundance of fresh summer fruit (mangoes by the tray-full, anyone?), a summer holiday in Queensland just makes sense. In this ebook we've tried to narrow down the very best of the best in summer activities across the state, from Tropical North Queensland down to Southern Queensland Country and everything in between. From summer music festivals and the best outdoor picnic spots, to chasing waterfalls and sailing the open waters; laying a towel down on the World's Best Beach or swimming with turtles on the Great Barrier Reef. You really would need an endless summer to tick them all off your bucket list. The only question left is, what experience will you tackle first? From the team at Tourism and Events Queensland PS. We'd love to know what you think of this ebook! Head to for more stories and add your comments, or drop us a line at Yup. We know. With a state as big as ours, it's more than likely not all the epic summer experiences made it in this ebook. What you've got here are the opinions of the editors, based on their own first-hand experience and research, as well as conversations with businesses and regional tourism operators. If something's missing, let us know – because dang, we've got our snorkel packed and want to know it too. And, yes, there could be a follow up! Also, if you like what you read and are inspired to visit Queensland, don't forget to call ahead and check in with the operators. Like all things in life, some of the adventures here are subject to change without notice. Tourism and Events Queensland cannot be held accountable or liable for any bookings, loss of business, income loss, inconvenience, injury or death, as a result of information in this ebook. Finally, if this ebook inspires you to chase an endless summer, we'd love to hear about it.
