To make it easy, we've collected delicious local recipes, the best of food and wine and a range of not-to-be missed experiences in this handy guide. Discover our paddock to plate experiences - find out where you can crunch into just-picked apples, taste wine with the winemaker, sample menus featuring what's in season; plan your trip to take in country pubs, farmers markets and food festivals that celebrate the source, the growers and you, the eaters! And when you're done eating, get out there and explore our country towns, meet the locals, soak up the history, find a treasure at an antique store or unwind in one of our 16 National Parks – home to incredible wildlife, flowing waterfalls and creeks and ancient landscapes. The recipes featured in these pages are sourced from just a few of our amazing cafes and restaurants – they feature seasonal produce and are matched with wines from our two wine regions – the Granite Belt and the South Burnett. Each distinct season offers you the chance to see a different side of our region, from spring wildflowers to harvest time in summer, colorful autumn showings and clear winter skies. If you're in need of further inspiration, head to our Facebook page where we're happy to answer your questions. Southern Queensland Country starts just 90-minutes' drive west of Brisbane – we hope to see you soon for the first of many visits!
